eating in the almost completed chair

Daddy did the finishing touches to the high chair - an edging around the tray and a few coats of high gloss varnish for easy cleaning - and now the chair is usable! Yay!
I'm waiting

As you can see John really likes it.

And he's enjoying his food too!

Food Time

When you start to get bigger you need to eat a bit more and so, now that John is six months old, he has begun eating 'real food'.

This calls for special bowls and spoons....which we now have thanks to Uncle Bob & Aunty Loz from Darwin.
Ooh what's in there Mummy ?Bowls and spoons! Yay! Maybe I can use them as drums?Kung Fu Panda! Cool - Thanks Uncle Bob & Aunty Loz

This also calls for a suitable location to eat the food
Nanna's knee works well sometimes....

But a more permanent solution is required...

So Dad got to work.

And since Pop was visiting he helped out too.

Checking measurements

A few more measurements
And testing for size!

This is pretty cool Dad!

You deserve a beer...and can I have some too?

Australia Day Weekend

It's been a little while since we updated this blog and thought it was about time!
John is excited to be on his tummy or back...he can easily roll over both directions now and doesn't mind too much when he falls from sitting either way - unless of course the floor is a bit too hard!
He has two teeth to show off now too!
On Australia Day we went, along with Maryanne, Ryan, Abbey & Lucy, to friends for an Australia Day BBQ and backyard cricket...
Ryan having a bat with John in Wicket Keeping
"I'll catch it Dad" says Abbey from the bike! John's turn

Cousins can be fun to have around...
They have different toys at their house
We all need to learn to share...

Sometimes we play nicely...
(Isn't that cute....Abbey's patting John on the head)
Other times it can be a bit of a shock
John: What! I was playing with that!
Abbey: Did someone say something?
Oh well... It's all fun at the end of the day!
